If you’ve got an adventurous nature, you’re in for a wild time at the Watercolor Inn & Resort.  Explore the natural wildlife that inhabits our area with a number of canoe and kayaking tours that let guests experience close up the beauty of nature.

Western Lake Discovery Expedition- 

Discover the beauty of a rare coastal dune lake. Our guided kayak/canoe tour around Western Lake will immerse you in the wildlife and history of one of Northwest Florida's ecological gems. You'll travel the paths of ancient native civilizations, Civil War soldiers, turn-of-the-century turpentine workers and WWII Coast Guard outposts.

Western Lake borders on Point Washington Wildlife Management Area. You'll paddle near the nesting and feeding habitats of the osprey, bobcat, whitetail deer, and Osceola turkey. Ask your guide to lead a short walk in the forest to search for wildlife tracks!

This tour is a good option for younger children and families. Western Lake is a slow, easy paddle on shallow water. Tour lasts no longer than 2 hours, $55 per person (Watercolor and Watersound guests receive $10 discount), $30 for children under 10.

Grayton Beach Explorer-

Paddle with our naturalist guide to where a coastal dune lake meets the Gulf of Mexico. You'll paddle across Western Lake to historic Grayton Beach and take a quick dip in the Gulf. Bottlenose dolphin, stingrays and sportfish are common in these emerald green waters. See how migrating shorebirds, Choctawhatchee dune mice and nesting sea turtles adapt to a freshwater/saltwater habitat. Includes a short walking tour inside a coastal dune canopy.

This tour lasts approx. 2 hours. Recommended for those with moderate physical stamina. Children may wish to ride in double kayaks with adults. $55 per person (Watercolor and Watersound guests receive a $10 discount), $30 for children under 10.
